Podcast Suite, Version 1.5 Beta PDF Print E-mail

Podcast Suite for Joomla! 1.5 is now available. Download the component, module, and plugin.

If you're migrating from the Joomla! 1.0 version, also download the migrator plugin files. After installing the migrator component on your 1.0 site, unzip this package, then copy podcast.php into /administrator/components/com_migrator/plugins and podcast.sql into /administrator/components/com_migrator/tables before doing your migration

As of Joomla! 1.5.6, you may see alerts on installation of the component for languages you don't have installed. Do not be alarmed; this is a temporary issue in the Joomla! core that will be fixed soon. The suite is now internationalized and has a French language pack under development.

Podcast Suite 1.5 requires PHP 5 and our current test environment is 5.2.x. If you get a parse error on line 70 of podcast.php after installing the component, your server is running an outdated version of PHP; ask your host about upgrading. Please also make sure you are running the latest copy of Joomla! 1.5.x.

Podcast Suite uses XMLWriter which is included in PHP core. However, it relies on libxml. Although most servers already have this ready to go, you may find that you need to have it installed.

iWebCal for Joomla PDF Print E-mail
A port of iWebCal for Joomla is now available. This component takes an .ics file from iCal or any other application generating vCalendar files and displays them on your website. You can also publish your calendars from Google Calendar. Click here to download the component.

Podcast Suite, Version 1.1 Stable PDF Print E-mail
Podcast Suite version 1.1 stable is now available for download: component, module, plugin. This is mainly a bug fix release, with the following issues resolved:

  • Added support for <itunes:author>
  • Fixed the iTunes category format
  • Fixed player autostart issues in IE
  • Fixed the issue where RSS feeds were downloading instead of displaying in the browser
  • Enclosures can now appear in both the introtext and fulltext
  • Off-site links now work properly
  • Fixed so that filenames with parenthesis are properly handled
The following features were also added:
  • The module can now display pcast:// links for one-click subscriptions, as well as display an additional link to the actual feed
  • Quicktime is now supported for AAC playback
  • Category pre-selects have been added for iTunes
  • Feeds for separate Joomla categories are now available.
Uninstall the old versions of all three, then reinstall the new copies.
